Bellamy was a pound puppy, rescued at 5 months old. He was all legs and ears and a real live wire. It transpired that he was originally homed as a yard guard dog which explained his fear of being shut out in the garden. We could never close the door when he spent the afternoon guarding the bird table.
Bellamy was so excitable he used to burst blood vessels and he took a year to train to sit! Even the canine behaviorist at his training classes despaired with him. Once he got the idea though he just wanted to please and helped to train Petra.
What a lovely, loyal dog he turned out to be. My constant companion, even for visits to the loo, he entertained us for 15 years.
